Book 2: July 2006

This month's selection comes to you from Sevda Bulut, now living in London.  Please join (at least) Sevda and me in reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon.

Although neither of us has read this book, it got pretty good reviews on both Barnes & Noble and Amazon.  Plus, Sevda has heard good things about it, which is good enough for me.

Be sure to send me any questions you'd like me to add to the site for discussion.  If you don't suggest anything, I'll be forced to continue the "what was your favorite part?" line of questioning which I'm sure isn't up to normal book club standards.

At the start of last month's selection, my cousin Jenine suggested that we name a wine to go with the book.  Like the book for this month, I haven't tried this one myself, but the title seems to match the theme.

This month's wine pairing: Bad Dog Red, Syrah Cabernet

A good pick! I'll play this month. Eric really liked this book when he read it last year, but I never got around to reading it. Therefore, this is a perfect pick because: A) we already have it and I haven't read it but meant to. Plus, autism is the medical puzzle of the decade.

Excellent pick. I read it, but that is not why it's a good pick. The wine pairing is.

Yeah, I'm ahead of the game, as I have already read this book and found it fascinating to get inside the mind of an autistic person. I'll have to try the wine and think back to my reading of the book.
