Recommended Reading: August 2006

My mom recently suggested that we create an area of the site where we can tell each other about books we've read that we really enjoyed.  For those of you who are having a hard time getting around to the single book we select each month, you can use this list as a constant reminder of how little time you currently have.  But for those of you who fly through books, this list may help you find some new authors and pre-screen selections you may have already considered.

Here's how it will work:
- Each month I'll add a new "Recommended Reading" entry.
- When you read a book that you enjoyed, add a comment to that month's entry.
- Please include the title, author's name, and a brief description of the book and why you enjoyed it.

Each month's entry will be archived under the category "Recommended Reading".  You can access all previous month's entries by clicking on "Recommended Reading" on the If you have any questions, or other ideas of how we can use this section, please let me know.

For anyone who likes "light reading thrillers", try THE BOOK OF THE DEAD by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. It wasn't fantastic, but enjoyable. I see they have written many others, but I hadn't read them before.

Me again...you can tell who has more leisure time than others! I had time to read alot in the car on our vacation this past week and completed "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. I REALLY liked it!!! If you like old men and/or the circus, you will love this book. Really, read it.
