The Photo:

I used to be a voracious reader. Since the kids came, I am just a voracious book collector.  The results are stacked under my bed, patiently waiting for the day when I can spend more time with them.

The Book Biography:

Three Authors I Love (and why):
- Anne Tyler: Most of her books end with the realization that the beauty of life is in its unplanned chaos. In a household of too many kids, too many careers and precious little housework, that is the philosophy I cling to.
- Jane Austen: The romance! The virtue! The parlor talk! Reading Jane Austen always inspires me to be wittier, more virtuous and to wear more empire-waisted dresses.
- Tim O'Brien: He writes about flawed men in a uniquely thoughtful and versatile way. Plus, he's from Minnesota.

Three Authors Others Love, But I Can't Get Into:
- Pat Conroy (sorry Jennie)
- Tom Robbins (sorry husband)
- Hunter S. Thompson (sorry Johnny Depp)

My Three Most Beloved Characters of Fiction:
- Holden Caulfield (The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger)
- Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery)
- Emma Woodhouse (Emma, Jane Austen)

Three Books I Reread:
- Little Women, Louisa Mae Alcott
- To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee
- Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen

Three Books I Can't Wait to Share with Elizabeth:
- Heidi, Johanna Spyri
- All-of-a-Kind Family, Sydney Taylor
- Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery

P.S. My husband, who just read this, is appalled that my list is so "girly." So....umm...sorry about that. I guess it is what it is.
