I'm reading "The Sorrows of an American" by Siri Hustvedt. It is about a middle-aged brother and sister who are trying to unravel a family secret involving their father, who recently died. Along the way, they are also dealing with their own personal secrets and traumas. Death, infidelity, love - it's all in there. The overarching theme seems to be about trauma and memory and how they shape identity.

I'm only about 3/4th through it, but I love it. Plus the author was raised in Northfield (lives in NYC now), so you get a lot of MN flavor throughout the book.
